Weather Resource Center

As a serious fisherman, you have to always watch the weather.  In fact arguably, the real serious ones fish the weather.  You can't just go on Saturdays and Sundays, you have to go when the weather says you can, even it its just wading out in the bay for an hour and a half, its worth it if the weather is right.

This page is an aggregate of the various sources we visit to check weather conditions.  It helps us determine "go" or "wait another day".  We hope you find it helpful.

20 mile buoy out of galveston

This is a great link for wave height and windspeed.  If you are thinking of going offshore or wading the surf, this is great place to check.  For surf wading conditions you really want a South Southeast wind as this will affect water clarity typically.  A good rule of thumb for windspeed and wave height is 10 knots and 2ft respectively.  If it is much bigger than that, probably worth waiting another day.

Psalm 93:3-4

New International Version (NIV)

3 The seas have lifted up, LORD,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the LORD on high is mighty.
